Barn To Yarn Experience

IMG_1954_edited.jpg

For those of us who love to knit, crochet, or needle felt, there is nothing quite like the feel of fiber in our hands. But have you ever wanted to dive deeper into how that fiber is made? The Barn to Yarn Experience invites you to slow down and experience the entire process.

In this 3-day workshop, you'll begin by interacting with the fiber flock, then learning how to transform their fleeces into stunning yarn, roving, and felt.

Chris, our owner, will work side by side with you, guiding you as you wash, pick, card and spin your own yarn in the mill. And because we keep our groups small, you’ll get all the hands-on, individual guidance you need. Plus you will be enjoying the renovated Schoolhouse accommodations, dining and rural setting.

Meet Our Fiber Flock

Meet Bruce and Bert, our alpacas. Meet Tuf, our Icelandic sheep. Don't miss Rambo, our Rambouillet sheep. Plus our mohair goats, Lincoln, Corriedale and Valais Blacknose sheep and more.

And of course Walter - he's a mini Highland cow. Each animal produces fiber that is suited for particular uses. And there's more to come!

Our Mill

Learn how the fiber, felt and yarn we sell is made, from the raw fleece right though to the finished prodouct. You'll be hands-on with Chris, our owner. You'll operate the equipment, understand each process and leave with your own roving, yarn and felt that you made.
